Working with Custom Cabinets

In Database Console, you can apply custom cabinets to any database you have access to. To start working with custom cabinets, select a database from the list on the left side of the screen.

After selecting a database, the Upgrade History for that database appears. This table shows a list of cabinets that have been applied to the selected database within the past 30 days. The following columns are available:

Username—The username of the user who applied the cabinet.

            Cabinet—The cabinet that was applied.

Run Date/Time—The date and time at which the cabinet application began. This date and time reflect the date and time formatting configured in your MRI localization preferences.

Completion Date/Time—The date and time at which the cabinet application was completed. This date and time reflect the date and time formatting configured in your MRI localization preferences.

Status—The current status of the cabinet.

Not Started—The cabinet has been uploaded, but the cabinet apply process has not yet been started.

In Progress—The cabinet is currently being applied to the database. Whenever a cabinet is in this status, the Apply Custom Cabinet button becomes disabled.

Complete—The cabinet was successfully applied to the database.

Complete with error(s)—The cabinet has been applied, but it encountered one or more errors. Click the row to open the Cabinet Upgrade page and review the errors. For more information, refer to the Reviewing a Completed Cabinet Apply section below.

Applying a Custom Cabinet

To apply a custom cabinet to a database, follow these steps:

1.         In Database Console, select a database from the list on the left side of the screen.

Note

To search for a specific database, use the search field at the top of the list.

2.         Click Apply Custom Cabinet.

Note

If a cabinet apply is currently in progress, the Apply Custom Cabinet button will be disabled. Wait for the current cabinet apply to complete before starting another.

3.         In the Upload Cabinet window, click Browse.

4.         Locate and select a cabinet file saved to your computer, and then click Open.

5.         Click Done. The Upload Cabinet window opens.

6.         In the Upload Cabinet window, you can review the objects in the cabinet before beginning the cabinet apply process. Select an object type in the All object types area to show a list of all of the objects of that type in the Cabinet objects section. The columns in the Cabinet objects section vary by object type, but the following columns are always included:

            Description—A description of the object.

Last Update—The date and time when the object was last updated. This date and time reflect the date and time formatting configured in your MRI localization preferences.

Last User Updated—The user who made the most recent update to the object.

7.         When you are ready to apply the cabinet, click Process.

While your cabinet is being applied, the Status column changes to In Progress. Once it has completed, the status will change, and you can click the row to review what happened to each object.

Reviewing a Completed Cabinet Apply

After a cabinet apply has finished, the Status column on the Upgrade History page is updated to either Complete or Complete with error(s). To review what happened with each object, follow these steps:

1.         On the Upgrade History page, click the row of the cabinet you want to review. The Cabinet Upgrade page opens.

2.         Review the following columns of the Cabinet Upgrade table:

Object Type—The object type of this row's object.

Object Name—The name of the object.

Status—The status of the object. The following statuses are possible:

Success—The object was applied to the database successfully.

Warning—The object was applied, but a warning message was created. Refer to the Message column to see the warning.

Error—The object could not be applied due to an error. Refer to the Message column to see the error.

Message—Additional information about what happened to the object. If the status is Warning or Error, the warning or error message is displayed here. Messages are truncated after three lines in the table, but you can see the full message text by clicking the object's row to open the Message Details window.

Note

To filter out objects with a certain status, use the Success, Warnings, and Errors checkboxes above the table. By default, only Warnings and Errors are selected, so only objects with a warning or error appear in the table.

You can also filter the table by a specific string of text by using the search bar to the upper-right of the table.

To copy all of the messages from the Message field to your computer's clipboard, click Copy Messages. You can then paste the messages into a word processor.
